This has been the best part of our trip. We literally hit the jackpot with Anna and Michele! They opened up their home and their hearts while hosting us in their dream like home on the hill sides of Italy. Every night after our day of adventures we would sit out on the patio and share stories and learn about each other...via Google Translate! They offered homemade limoncello and sparkling wine along with sweet desserts. One night they even made us a traditional Italian dinner where I fell in love with Anna's garden grown tomato salad. In these moments we learned about their family, watched their son's wedding video, talked about life in Italy and befriended Little Brian, their kitten! From the start, they quickly accommodated us for a night early and offered to pick us up from the airport...a two hour round trip. They both greeted us at the airport and bought us a round of coffee at a cafe as they thought we might be tired from our travels! Once we arrived they insisted on carrying our luggage down the multiple flights of stone steps to their home. Their home was right out of a movie. Better than what the pictures even looked like online! We thought we were renting the bedroom but realized it was the entire guest suite which was stocked with essentials including breakfast snacks and ingredients to make spaghetti! The next morning Angie and I decided to have our French pressed coffee and pastries out on the terrace and accidentally got locked out. Anna had to leave work an hour away and come unlock the door for us. Instead of being mad she was kind and understanding. On our last day we got to meet Anna's beautiful family and her brother drove us to the airport. This experience isn't anything a fancy hotel could have offered and in the end we left with an Italian family. We are so grateful and will miss you greatly! Until next time!

Apartment is small but suited with every equipment needed for a comfortable holiday in Rome. Most valuable is the rooftop terrace above the apartment: although accesible by quite steep, shared staircase only, it offers incredible views over the surroundings of Trastevere, Janicolo hill and even the St. Peter's cathedral! Guests can be surprised by curtain only instead of door to the bathroom and low ceiling in the shower, but it didn't bring us any particular discomfort. The place is great for its genuine atmosphere, particular details (especially historical doors and windows) and nice neighbourhood.
